Mushroom Latte (Wellness Style with Oyster Mushrooms)

Ingredients:

  • Oyster mushrooms – 100g, finely chopped or powdered (dry mushrooms work even better)

  • Milk – 1 cup (Doodh, dairy or plant-based like almond/soy/oat)

  • Coffee – 1 tsp instant OR 1 shot espresso (optional, makes it a coffee-mushroom latte)

  • Cocoa powder – 1 tsp (optional, for a mocha flavor)

  • Cinnamon powder – ¼ tsp (Dalchini, optional)

  • Honey / jaggery / sugar – 1 tsp (Madh, Gud, or Chini)

  • Water – ½ cup

Method:

  1. Make mushroom base

    • In a pan, simmer chopped mushrooms in ½ cup water for 10–12 mins.

    • Strain to extract the mushroom tea (or grind dry mushrooms into powder and skip this step).

  2. Prepare latte

    • Heat milk in another pan. Whisk until frothy.

    • Add coffee (if using), cocoa (optional), cinnamon, and mushroom extract/powder. Stir well.

  3. Sweeten & finish

    • Add honey/jaggery/sugar as per taste

    • Whisk or use a frother for a creamy latte texture.

  4. Serve

    • Pour into a mug, sprinkle a little cinnamon or cocoa on top.
